Applications under this category are for business ventures. Plot holders on tribal land are issued with a lease agreement for a specified period of time.  This Memorandum of Agreement of Lease is a legally binding contract entered into between the Land Board (lessor) and the plot holder (lessee).  The lessee is expected to comply with the lease requirements amongst which is payment of annual lease rentals except for residential purposes which is a once off payment.

A Memorandum of Agreement of Lease may be issued for, but is not limited to, the following purposes:

  • Mining activities
  • Agricultural activities
  • Industrial activities
  • Commercial activities
  • Tourism
  • Civic and communities
  • Residential for non-citizens
  • Residential for citizens
  • Wildlife and birds sanctuaries

  • Motswana
  • Non-Citizen with the consent of the Minister
  • Attained age of majority
  • Registered companies
  • Societies
How do I get this service?
What supporting documents are required?
  • Certified and valid copy of Omang/ID
  • Copy of marriage certificate
  • Proof of financial assistance from the Poverty alleviation scheme Certified and valid copy of Omang
  • Copy of Instrument signed under Married Persons Property Act (proof of Marriage regime if married and Affidavit if not married)
  •  Decree absolute and court order where applicable
  • In case of widow/widower, death certificate
  • In case of People Living with disability (PLWD) copy of Disability Card
  • In case of dis-advantaged and marginalized groups, a confirmation letter and assessment report from District Council
  • Share certificate
How long will this service take?

Once plots are available, they are advertised to the general public. Interested persons can respond to the advertisement.
