DEA UNVEILS NEW BRANDING TO REINFORCE DRUG-ABUSE FIGHT
Jul 08, 2026

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) today introduced its new official logo and uniform, strengthening Botswana’s response to illicit drugs and reinforcing its role in safeguarding the nation.

Director General Phemelo Ramakorwane stated that the new corporate identity would improve the Agency’s visibility, improve stakeholder collaboration and ensure consistent public awareness.

Launching the identity, Minister for State President, Defence and Security, Moeti Mohwasa, said the event demonstrates government’s commitment to protecting citizens, upholding the rule of law and intensifying the fight against the growing illicit-drug threat.

Minister Mohwasa observed that drug trafficking and substance abuse continued to endanger families, communities and young people. While perpetrators must be held accountable, he stressed that those battling addiction should have access to rehabilitation, support services and a chance to rebuild their lives.

He further acknowledged milestones achieved since the DEA’s establishment, including the recruitment and training of its first officers and the near-completion of its headquarters and regional operational office.

Tlokweng MP Phenyo Segokgo urged the nation to eliminate the stigma surrounding rehabilitation, emphasising that such centres restore lives, reunite families and offer hope to those affected by addiction.
