Overview

The programme offers unemployed citizen graduates a platform  to develop work skills and experiences that will support them in the transition from school-life/academia to the working environment through attachments in various organisations in Botswana. Placement is done for a maximum period of two (2) years by the Department of Employment Services. Selection is done on a first come basis by considering the available vacancy, qualification and place of service.

 

Who is eligible?

 Unemployed citizens under 35 years of age with graduate qualifications

How do I get this service?
  • Complete and submit the Internship Application Form
  • Receive acknowledgement letter with a reference number 
  • Government departments, State Owned Enterprises, Private sector, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO)s and CBOs express intention to enrol graduates through a Request Form
  • The applicant will receive a telephone call once placement is secured by the Department of Employment Services  
  • The Intern will complete and submit Return Slip Form
  • The Intern's performance is monitored through a Performance Contract Form
  • The intern is eligible for monthly allowance by submitting a Confirmation Form
  • The Intern can transfer once after three (3) months by filling a Transfer Form
  • The Intern can opt for reinstatement by filling a Reinstatement Form
  • The Intern can choose to exit the programme before or at end of two years for various reasons by filling an Exit Form.

  • A certified copy of National Identity Card (Omang)
  • A certified copy of academic qualifications
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Official Transcript 
  • Completion letter if the Official Transcript does not show completion status/date of completion

Thirty (30) working days depending on availability slot
